What is jainism in japan?

Jainism is a relatively unknown religion in Japan, with only a small number of followers. There is no significant Jain community in Japan, and the religion is not recognized by the Japanese government.

In recent years, some Jains from India have started to visit and live in Japan, and have started to introduce the teachings of Jainism to Japanese people. However, the religion still remains largely unknown in the country.

One notable mention of Jainism in Japan is the fact that Mahatma Gandhi, a follower of Jainism, was greatly inspired by the Japanese concept of ‘Bushido’ (the code of the samurai) which he saw as having parallels to Jain principles of non-violence, self-discipline and self-control.
